As someone who struggles with this myself, I can tell you that the potential consequences aren’t pretty. Most methods I have looked at can be botched and you end up with brain damage or some other kind of disability. Some can also endanger the person who finds your body and any pets you may have. Other forms are very gruesome and will traumatize the person who finds your body.
I have come to the conclusion that the best method is to seek treatment for depression. I recommend finding a psychotherapist in your area. Look for one that practices one of the following types of therapy:
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
- Behavioral Activation
- Interpersonal Therapy (IPT)
- Schema Therapy
- Cognitive Behavioral Analysis System of Psychotherapy (CBASP)
